Saint George was a Roman militar and a Christian martyr who was born between 275 and 281 and died on April 23rd 303.He is the Patron saint of Aragon, Catalonia, England, Ethiopia, Georgia, Greece, Lithuania, Palestine, Portugal and Russia.
The typical things people do in Catalonia is that boys give a rose to the girls they love, and girls give a book to boys in return.
The legend explians that:
Some time ago, on 23rd of April of 303, Saint George beat a dragon to save a young girl, the king’s daughter. When the dragon was defeated, its blood became red roses, and Saint George took one for the princes.
